Brian Brackeen
A working software developer, business owner, and technical advisor who personally leads Codepoet’s project rescue and Fractional CTO work.
Brian has spent roughly 30 years programming and more than 25 years running software businesses. He has written applications from scratch, inherited systems he did not build, led teams and vendors, and sat on the owner’s side of the budget.

When a project is in trouble, I do not rely on a polished status report or hand the hard questions to an account manager. I review the evidence myself, talk to the people doing the work, and explain the situation in business terms.
That may mean finding serious problems in the code or architecture. It may also mean finding a capable development team trapped inside weak priorities, unclear roles, excessive meetings, or nobody with the authority to make a decision.
The job is to separate those problems, decide what deserves attention first, and give the owner a plan that does not depend on Codepoet winning the next contract.

Brian personally built the original production version of Rug Doctor’s native iOS ASRx field application, then brought in additional developers as the work expanded.
COMPASS INSURANCE
Led and Wrote the Mobile App.
Brian wrote Compass Insurance’s React Native mobile application and later provided technical and product leadership as the relationship expanded into AgentNav.
Stayed Through Years of Change.
Brian built the early ecommerce system and iOS application himself, later led Codepoet’s developers, and maintained the relationship through rebranding and acquisition.

Alongside Codepoet, Brian currently operates Mailrun.ai and RapidQuoteAI.com. At Mailrun, he took over a broad set of responsibilities when a co-founder departed, wrote the public API, affiliate API, and customer portal, and used AI automation to reduce manual operational and marketing work.
That experience keeps the advice grounded. The questions are not only “Is this technically elegant?” They are also “Can the team operate it?”, “Will it help sell or deliver the product?”, and “Is this where the next dollar should go?”

Chaz supports project control, priorities, accountability, and operational execution. He can run the delivery cadence while Brian handles code, architecture, security, and senior technical judgment.
When implementation calls for more capacity, Codepoet can bring in developers and QA staff appropriate to the work. Brian remains accountable for the senior technical direction instead of disappearing after the sale.
